Who We Are
We’re a fun and supportive choir with a wide range of experience levels. Expect friendly rehearsals, tea-break chats, focused singing, and plenty of laughter in a relaxed atmosphere where people learn together. We sing a mix of pop, folk, jazz, and gospel music. Current repertoire includes Pink Pony Club and songs by Kirk Franklin.
All abilities welcome! No audition and no need to read sheet music. Come and try a session first to see if we’re the right fit for you - zero pressure if you’re feeling a little rusty. You’re very welcome to just listen in and see what you think.
I'm Sunday Lendis, founder and director of Stanmore Road Choir. SRC began as a Christmas sing-along for my neighbours and has been growing ever since. My own musical background blends choral music with the jazz tradition, and I bring that mix of rigour, fun, and music from all kinds of different traditions into every rehearsal. My aim for SRC is simple: joy, community and beautiful music - come along expecting all three.
