Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to audition?

No. There's no audition and no need to read sheet music. All abilities are welcome, from complete beginners to experienced singers.

Do I need to be able to read music?

Not at all. We work aurally as well as from sheet music, so you'll never be left behind if notation isn't your thing.

What’s the age range?

It's a real mix, we've got members across a wide range of ages, all very welcome (18+).

What should I do before joining?

Come along to a free taster rehearsal first. No pressure, no commitment, just a chance to see how it feels and if we’re the right fit for you.

What are my options for paying?
You can join as a full member (£90/term, paid upfront or in 3 monthly instalments of £30), or pay as you go at £9/session with no commitment. Concessions are available on both - see Membership & Fees

How do I pay?

Membership is paid via bank transfer or direct debit - details are sent when you sign up. Pay As You Go is cash or card on the day.

Can I just come along whenever suits me?

Yes - that's exactly what Pay As You Go is for. No subscription, no obligation.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just a water bottle and something to eat in the break - we'd love for the break to be a proper chance to refuel, not just a quick breather, so don't skip dinner on our account!

What if I need to miss a few weeks?
Termly membership covers the whole term regardless of attendance. If illness/similar means you can't continue for the rest of the term, just get in touch - we'll sort something out on a case-by-case basis.

What do you sing?

A mix of pop, folk, jazz, and gospel, with new repertoire each term.

How will I hear about term dates, socials, and concerts?

Via our website and termly emails - make sure you're signed up when you join.

I have more questions / I'm nervous about coming - who do I talk to?

Just drop us an email - however small the question or big the reservation, we're always happy to talk it through before you commit to anything.
